Personal opinion about the article reporting an initiative to improve outcomes in acute kidney injury

The concern about the lack of consensus criteria to define acute renal failure, and the advocation for it had been requested before [1, 2]. Therefore, dissemination of this news is appreciated by the researchers and the medical community. However, the fact that this article was submitted more than one year after the Amsterdam Conference does not help out the purpose of gaining broad support. Even more when articles presenting the RIFLE criteria unchanged are published later [3]. Reporting now is better than never, but my point is “please, not so late to avoid confusion”.
