Serum procollagen I and III aminoterminal propeptide concentrations in sepsis patients
during the 10-day follow up and at three and six months according to whether they
received hydrocortisone supplementation or not. The symbols mark the median values
and the vertical lines stand for ranges from 25th to 75th percentile. The laboratory
reference values are presented as a solid grey area in the background. Reference values
for serum procollagen III aminoterminal propeptide (PIIINP) are the same for both
males and females (1.7 to 4.2 μg/L). For serum procollagen I aminoterminal propeptide
(PINP) the reference area for females (19 to 84 μg/L) is slightly broader than for
males (20 to 76 μg/L) and is presented in darker grey.
