Analysis of CINC-1 (cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractant-1), IL-10 and IL-6
levels measured in both bronchoalveolar and peritoneal lavage fluids 18 and 48 hours
after sepsis induction. Values are ± standard deviation of five animals in each group.
Sepsis was induced by cecal ligation and puncture surgery (CLP). A sham-operated group
was used as control (C) for animals undergoing CLP. One hour after surgery, C and
CLP groups were further randomized into subgroups receiving saline (SAL) or glutamine
(Gln). *Significantly different from C group (P < 0.05). #Significantly different from CLP-SAL group (P < 0.05). BALF = bronchoalveolar lavage fluid.
