Effects of falling hemoglobin concentration on cerebral oxygen delivery. With mild
hemodilution, it is theoretically possible that the resultant increase in cerebral
blood flow (CBF) can raise overall O2 delivery. However, with further decrements in hemoglobin, the increment in CBF is
insufficient to overcome the reduction in arterial oxygen content (CaO2).
