Diaphragm calpain activity. Diaphragm calpain activity was significantly increased for samples taken from animals after LPS treatment (filled bar) as compared to controls (open bar) (P < 0.001). EPA administration reduced this increase in diaphragm calpain activity, with calpain activity lower for the EPA plus LPS group (light grey bar) as compared to LPS treated animals (P < 0.02).
