A patient who underwent maxillofacial surgery due to trauma, presented as case 3 in
the text. She was extubated with the use of the pediatric airway exchange catheter
(PAEC), and required reintubation after 6 hours of extubation. This was easily achieved
over the PAEC without cutting the archbar.
