A4 All research articles published in Critical Care are open access, which means they are freely and universally accessible online, immediately upon publication.

All Editorials, Journal club critiques, Letters and Supplements are also free to access, immediately upon publication.

Commentaries, Reviews and Reports over 12 months old are free to access, prior to this they are available only to Critical Care's subscribers. The abstracts of these articles are free to access immediately upon publication.

All of the other services provided on the journal website are freely available, although some may require registration.
