Q8 How quickly will my research article be published?

A8 Critical Care aims to give authors an initial decision on their manuscript within 5 weeks of submission, and manuscripts are typically published within 2-3 months of submission.

Once a manuscript is accepted, it will be published immediately online. The accepted version of the manuscript is published on the journal website as a 'provisional PDF' with final citation details, and the article will be indexed in PubMed within 48 hours. The accepted manuscript will then be copyedited, and the final version published in fully formatted PDF and XML (HTML) versions within approximately four weeks. These versions will replace the provisional PDF.
